Greetings Annandale Terrace Families,
Over the winter break, we moved all classrooms in the existing building into the new addition. The new building addition and library are beautiful. Some grade levels moved into modular or quad classrooms. Teachers provided parents with new room numbers and classroom location in newsletters sent prior to winter break. Having a new addition is very exciting, however we will not have an open house for parents until, late summer 2020 when the construction project is completed.
With the start of the New Year, I take time to reflect on and write down 3 things that I am grateful for from the previous year; followed by writing 3 goals for the new year. My 3 professional goals for 2020 are: to provide students and staff with a safe and positive school environment where they will learn and grow, create a warm and welcoming environment for our parents, and for our students knowledge to be reflected on local and state assessments so they will exceed state and federal benchmarks. Throughout the year, I will revisit these goals to monitor my progress in accomplishing the goals that I have set. This practice allows me to reflect upon and hold myself accountable for my professional practices and its impact on staff, students and our community.
I would like to ask our families to consider setting goals for yourselves and working with your children to set goals for both at home and school. Having a partnership between home and school positively impact student learning each day!
Happy New Year!! May 2020 be a successful year filled with good health, happiness and prosperity for us all.
Sincerely,
Lisa Pilson
Principal
