The Quarterly Compensation Network meeting was held on March 13 with over 160 registered agency attendees. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and contributed to our panel discussion on best practices for conducting a compensation study! More insight on the meeting can be found at the link above.
In October 2024, we introduced the DHRM Mandated Reporting Activities for Human Resources calendar for agency Human Resource Directors. This document provides an updated summary list in date order of mandated reporting and other requirements of Commonwealth agency Human Resources. These mandates are set in the Code of Virginia, Appropriation Act, Executive Orders, Executive Directives, observations and ongoing additional requirements of state officials. This continues to be a living document and will be updated as necessary. We hope this is a helpful tool for you.
The Code of Virginia mandates agencies submit an annual Employment Opportunities Plan by June 30. To assist agencies in fulfilling this requirement, please find the instructions, tools and templates that are readily available on the DHRM website.
We were excited to share our progress and updates on the HR Capabilities Center & Innovation Lab initiative at DHRM’s HR Innovation Summit earlier this month. We asked attendees to complete a brief survey to answer the question “What skills are essential to success in HR?”, which will be a foundational aspect of the COMPASS Human Resources Academy, the development component of the capabilities center.
