This is not your typical episode of Borne the Battle. It’s a Halloween Special with returning guest and Navy Veteran, Jennifer Marshall. Marshall is an actress and a trained private investigator. In “Mysteries Decoded,” an ongoing paranormal series on the CW television network, she gets to put those skills to work on paranormal activity, like vampires, Bigfoot, Area 51, The Mothman and many others. We honor her service.
White Ribbon VA is a national call to action for men and women to pledge to never commit, condone, or remain silent about sexual harassment, sexual assault, or domestic violence. It is an opportunity for everyone to act, regardless of their gender. [From YouTube]
VA is implementing its new electronic health record (EHR) system on Oct. 24 at initial sites in the Pacific Northwest. The implementation improves how clinicians store and manage patient information, including visits, test results, prescriptions and more. This will also mean some changes to how Veterans access their own health data online if their VA facility has changed to the new EHR. [From VAntage Point]
Every October we gather in various ways to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The observance is an international campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer. It also raises funds to research its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. Breast cancer is one of the most common kinds of cancer for American women, after skin cancer. Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Navy Veteran Linda Sawvell, who served 31 years in the Reserve and deployed for a year to Afghanistan. Before graduating from Great Mills High School in Maryland, Linda Sawvell knew she wanted to do something different and travel the world. [From VAntage Point]
We honor your service, Linda!
VA’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) interacts with businesses in all industries whose products or services support VA’s and Veterans’ needs.
