OMHRC Funding

  • HHS/OMH, Office of Minority Health Resource Center (OMHRC): Health Information Campaign for American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Subcontracts. OMHRC is awarding subcontracts to organizations that primarily serve the AI/AN populations to strengthen existing HIV prevention services, testing, and increase AI/AN referrals to HIV care. Federal Grants

  • HHS/Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA): Substance Abuse Treatment Telehealth Network Grant Program. The purpose of this program is to demonstrate how telehealth programs and networks can improve access to health care services, particularly substance abuse treatment services, in rural, frontier, and underserved communities. Oversampling Study

  • HHS/OMH and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Call for participation in the 2017 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Oversampling Study (BRFSS). This phone survey aims to increase understanding of health-related risk behaviors, chronic health conditions, access to care and use of preventive services in AI/AN populations. The states participating in the oversampling study are: Alaska, Arizona, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Learn more

  • HHS/Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS): All Tribe's Call. Technical Assistance and Outreach on Medicaid Billing and Payment for Services Provided Outside the Four Walls by Indian Health Service (IHS)/Tribal Employees and Non-IHS Providers. The purpose of this call is to provide technical assistance and a better understanding of the process for Tribes interested in enrolling as Medicaid Federally Qualified Health Centers.   • HHS/OMH, National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities (NPA): Promoting Health Equity through Programs and Policies webinar series. Advancing Health Equity in Tribal Communities through Public Health Accreditation. This webinar will highlight the work that has been done by NPA and the National Indian Health Board at the national level as well as by local health care providers, such as the Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center, to advance health equity and improve health outcomes for AI/ANs.   • HHS and the National Public Health Information Coalition (NPHIC) recognize August as National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM). This national health observance highlights the importance of vaccination for people of all ages. The 2017 NIAM Toolkit, developed by the CDC and NPHIC, includes sample key messages, media materials, social media messages, FAQs, and resources you can use to support the observance. Learn more.
