Supplier Scouting Opportunity with Miltech 

MilTech, a Department of Defense Partnership Intermediary located at Montana State University, is working on a program to support the Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Agency (JIDA). JIDA is searching for innovative technologies and capabilities in the following topic areas:

  • Standoff Detection/Sensors
  • Device Neutralization
  • Counter Vehicle Attached IEDs (VAIEDs)
  • Electronic Countermeasures for Advanced Wireless Signals and Techniques
  • Robotics

VMEC has an opportunity to support a local farm and food non-profit introducing Lean to vegetable farmers.  Have any Centers adapted Lean workshop materials or examples for this sector? Check out this new 2-minute video resource MRC created to promote careers in the rapidly growing field of Mechatronics. Mechatronics combines learned skills in the areas of electrical, mechanical, computer and robotics. September 15, 2016. The Urban Manufacturing Alliance (UMA) is holding a conference in Indianapolis at the Circle City Industrial Complex. 

The UMA will bring members together for a day of facilitated discussions, networking, and learning around issues facing urban manufacturers and makers, and the organizations that support them.

Ways to open SMM doors for new business through Additive Manufacturing -  Phil Ratermann, Director of FASTLANE, an OH MEP affiliate

Ohio MEP recently undertook a pilot involving reaching out to SMMs with AM awareness building and for prospective AM projects.  Through a unique mix of shared project costs and SMM-led AM application workshops, the pilot deepened relationships with existing clients and engaged new SMMs to expand everyone’s understanding of how AM can be leveraged across a variety of applications.
