Robots in Manufacturing Environments Manufacturing Innovation Institute (RIME-MII)

The U.S. Army Contracting Command, on behalf of the Office of Secretary of Defense, seeks proposals from U.S. non-profit organizations interested in entering into a Technology Investment Agreement for the purpose of establishing a state-of-the-art, end-to-end, sustainable Manufacturing Innovation Institute (MII) in support of Robots in Manufacturing Environments. There will be two Proposers’ Days on August 10th and 12th to familiarize interested proposers with the concept and vision for the Robots in Manufacturing Environments Manufacturing Innovation Institute and the associated technology needs. Partnerships for Innovation: Accelerating Innovation Research- Technology Transfer (PFI:AIR-TT)

MEP Centers can partner with local universities to help commercialize their research.  The National Science Foundation is soliciting the PFI:AIR-TT program that supports research to overcome technology barriers or knowledge gaps in the transformation of fundamental science and engineering discoveries into market-valued solutions.  Researchers are expected to develop a proof of concept, prototype, or scale-up of the prototype that addresses real-world constraints and provides a competitive value in a potential application space. AIR-TT awards provide $200k for 18 months. For more information click here


MilTech Department of Defense Partnership

MilTech, a Department of Defense Partnership Intermediary located at Montana State University, is searching for organizations who have intrathoracic pressure regulation therapy (IPRT) technology, that work like the Zoll IPRT.

 

Please contact Todd Daniels or 406-994-6055 with any questions or to submit information on a company that has intrathoracic pressure regulation therapy (IPRT) technology. Miltech will offer $3,000 to each participating center. All submissions are due to Todd no later than August 19, 2016.


MFG DAY Updates

To assist hosts and organizers to make this year’s Manufacturing Day (MFG DAY) even better, the national team is in the process of creating some new resources.  Stay tuned for the rollout of a new video and Endorser Toolkit. August 1-2, 2016. Midwest Craft Brewers Conference (Event Link) The second annual Midwest Craft Brewers Conference will be hosted by University of Wisconsin-Stout Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 1-2, 2016, welcoming craft brewers, home brewers and brewing industry representatives from throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Nebraska.

This workshop is sponsored by CIFT and MAGNET on behalf of the Ohio MEP.  Federal laboratories offer unique capabilities that businesses can utilize to solve technical issues. Different types of research agreements are available based on the extent of assistance required. Through 2016, the Department of Energy is providing up to $20 million in vouchers so that small businesses can request technical assistance from national labs to help bring the next generation of clean technologies to market.
