Twice a year, the TED Fellows program opens applications to find a new class of extraordinary thinkers and doers. TED looks for different applicants than many other leadership-oriented programs. Instead of business people, professionals, policy wonks and government officials, the TED Fellows program focuses on doers, makers, inventors, advocates, filmmakers and photographers, musicians and artists, scientists, entrepreneurs, NGO heads, and human rights activists. August 1-2, 2016. Midwest Craft Brewers Conference (Event Link) The second annual Midwest Craft Brewers Conference will be hosted by University of Wisconsin-Stout Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 1-2, 2016, welcoming craft brewers, home brewers and brewing industry representatives from throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Nebraska.

MEP presents an Orientation webinar series for those new and interested to learn about the MEP program and the MEP system.  The webinar will be a two-part series:

  

Part I provides a high-level synopsis of the MEP program, geared towards new members of the system and is highly recommended for those who recently joined the MEP center.  Part I is also recommended as a refresher for those who have been in the system and get an update of what’s new.  Part II will present a more in-depth look into the initiatives and strategy of the MEP program.

Lorain County Community College (Spritzer Conference Center); 1005 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44035

This workshop is sponsored by CIFT and MAGNET on behalf of the Ohio MEP.  Federal laboratories offer unique capabilities that businesses can utilize to solve technical issues. Different types of research agreements are available based on the extent of assistance required. Each lab will define unique capabilities, how to engage with the resources and apply the technologies, and showcase a successful commercial application. Through 2016, the Department of Energy is providing up to $20 million in vouchers so that small businesses can request technical assistance from national labs to help bring the next generation of clean technologies to market.
