Emerging Leaders Program Nominations for Class 1.9 Now Open

What is the Emerging Leaders Program?

The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is an opportunity to provide candidates with informed, innovative ideas, best practices and recommendations that focus on the management and leadership strategies specifically related to MEP. At the end of this program candidates will have the ability to identify and draw on best practices from around the system, help develop creative new solutions to a center’s own problems and be in a stronger position to help manage the center’s day-to-day operations.

2-Day Workshop

As part of the Program, candidates get together two times during the year for networking and interactive workshops. During these two-day workshops, participants will receive specialized leadership training in areas of strategic planning, system awareness, and program fundamentals.   This workshop is required for both the incoming 1.9 and graduating 1.8 classes.

Applications will be accepted until Sept 16, 2016.  Please contact your Regional Manager or Wiza Lequin, wiza.lequin@nist.gov, 301-975-4395 for additional information.

Manufacturing Innovation Blog

From Makers to Manufacturers

By Dave Cranmer

In Niskayuna, NY, it was about companies, universities and the State advancing technology and building businesses and ecosystems based on additive manufacturing. In Washington, DC, at the White House and on Capitol Hill, it was all about Makers and their communities. The reality – both are manufacturers and both are makers, just at different ends of the spectrum of production.
