NIST MEP Staffing Changes

Congratulations to Mark Troppe -currently the Director of Partnerships and Program Development (PPDO)- is now a member of the newest class of American Society of Mechanical Engineers Congressional Fellows. This unique Fellowship provides high caliber individuals from government and the private sector with a prestigious opportunity to work directly with Congress on a variety of issues. Through this Fellowship, Mark has been selected for a six-month detail to Senator Coons’ office to work on issues important to U.S. manufacturing such as energy, environment, innovation, and technology policy—all of which are critical to MEP.

Effective today, Dave Stieren will be serving as Acting Director of PPDO while Mark is on detail. Dave has been a technical manager in NIST MEP since 2007.  Prior to joining NIST MEP, Dave was a Program Analyst in the NIST Program Coordination Office from 2006-2007, and he worked as a mechanical engineer in the NIST Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory from 1988-2006.
