CSMS # 55845210 - REMINDER: Modernized ACE Portal Broker Employee Reporting Requirements to be Satisfied by 4/14/2023
On December 19, 2022, the Customs Broker Modernization Final Rule became effective. The Final Rule updated the broker employee reporting requirements from all employees covered by a district permit to all employees covered by the national permit. U.S. Customs and Border Protection extended the date by which brokers had to satisfy the employee reporting requirements in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Portal to April 14, 2023, to provide brokers additional time to comply with the requirements and allow for implementation of technical fixes in ACE.
If a broker has a legitimate need for additional time to comply with the required employee reporting in the ACE Portal, they need to submit a request for additional time to the CBP Broker Management Branch at brokermanagement@cbp.dhs.gov prior to April 14, 2023. Such requests should explain the broker’s situation and how much additional time is needed.
A Quick Reference Card (QRC) for the Broker Reporting changes in the modernized ACE Portal is available on the ACE Training and Reference Guides webpage on CBP.gov. Also, CBP provided the trade community with additional guidance on the Add/Upload Feature and updates on fixes for the Broker Employee Reporting Functionality in Modernized ACE in CSMS# 54657364 and CSMS# 54964247.
For more information about the recent broker reporting/national permit changes, review the Customs Broker Modernization webpage. For technical issues, contact the ACE Account Service Desk (ASD) at 866-530-4172 or ace.support@cbp.dhs.gov. For policy questions contact the Broker Management Branch at brokermanagement@cbp.dhs.gov.
