CSMS # 54657364 - Add/Upload Employee Feature for Broker Reporting Now Available in Modernized ACE Portal
Pursuant to the Modernization of the Customs Broker Regulations Final Rule, customs brokers must submit new employee and terminated employee information within 30 days of employment and termination, respectively. This employee information is managed at the national permit level.
For customs brokers with an ACE Portal account, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has completed the transfer of all employee information from the local permits to the national permits, and the Add Employee/Upload Employee feature is now available to users in the modernized ACE Portal. Users are advised to review all migrated and uploaded data for accuracy and completeness.
When using the Add Employee (single entry)/Upload Employee (bulk upload via spreadsheet) functionality, please note the following guidance:
When entering an employee address, the building number should be listed before the street name, even if a non-U.S. country’s address standard is to place the building number after the street name.
For example, the following address: Paseo de la Reforma 316
06500 Mexico City, Mexico
Should be entered as:
316 Paseo de la Reforma
06500 Mexico City, Mexico
The employee upload spreadsheet currently has a maximum limit of 50 employees per upload.
CBP will also update the Broker Reporting Quick Reference Card with the above guidance.
For questions about the broker reporting/national permit changes, review the Customs Broker Modernization webpage. For technical issues, contact the ACE Account Service Desk (ASD) at 866-530-4172 or ace.support@cbp.dhs.gov.
