gNATSGO Updated

We are pleased to announce the release of the fourth version of a USDA-NRCS Soil & Plant Science Division (SPSD) soils database called the gridded National Soil Survey Geographic Database (gNATSGO). This product is a composite database that provides complete coverage of the best available gridded soils information for all areas of the United States and Island Territories. It was created by combining data from the Soil Survey Geographic Database (SSURGO), State Soil Geographic Database (STATSGO2), and Raster Soil Survey (RSS) databases into a single seamless ESRI file geodatabase. The target audience are users who need to create full coverage thematic maps and grids of soil properties and interpretations for large geographic areas, such as the extent of a large watershed, State, or the conterminous United States.

gNATSGO is available on the direct download page of the Geospatial Gateway. Databases were created for the conterminous United States (CONUS) and all states and island territories that do not have completed SSURGO.
