MPLC - Motion Picture Licencing Company
Please be aware of legislation changes June 2016 to Section 72 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 affecting the showing of broadcast television programmes.
The showing of broadcast television programmes in public now requires the MPLC (Motion Picture Licencing Company) licence. As a result, TV programmes whether broadcast on:
- television (terrestrial, Freeview or satellite services)
- home entertainment DVD/Blu-ray
- or viewed from the internet
- For further information go to: https://www.themplc.co.uk
- are shown in any business areas, including staff rest areas or other similar areas, then an MPLC licence will be legally required.
