1. Online Provider Portal
Workshop
Do you have queries about the Online Provider
Portal? If you would like a general introduction or have specific questions
about an area of the portal, please sign up for the session below:

can receive the same information by signing up to be part of our online webinar/web chat pilot session:
Week commencing Monday 11 September (exact
day TBC)
- 3 hour session (please specify AM or PM
preference when booking)
- Requirements: Laptop or desktop in a quiet
location
- The session will be similar to a skype
video call. You will be able see parts of the portal as we go through the
functionality and ask questions

2. Childcare Providers Survey September 2017
Following
on from the January 2017 Childcare Providers survey we will be asking for your
feedback during September 2017.
This
will be your chance to tell us what you think about the services we have
provided to you as practitioners and settings. This included areas such as:
- The
training offered
- The
website
- The
communication with Practitioners & settings,
- The
network meetings,
- The
conferences
- The
setting support offered
It
will also give you an opportunity to help us to enhance the services we provide.
The
survey will open mid September – Look out for further details in future
broadcasts emails.
In
the meantime, if you have any further comments about the childcare providers

3. Online Provider Portal – Planned Maintenance
A reminder
that the Online Provider Portal (OPP) is currently unavailable between midnight
until Monday 11 September whilst we upgrade our technology. This affects all tasks within the OPP (including
Free Entitlement submissions, course booking requests and profile forms).
Our FIS
childcare website will be unavailable to the public for one day only on
Thursday 31 August.
Please
refer to the setting broadcast dated 16 August for further information.
4. Parents reconfirming their Extended Free Entitlement
eligibility – News Update (FE Providers Only)
Parents who have
already received their eligibility code for Extended FE must re-confirm their eligibility every three months. Parents should
receive a text or email alert from the HMRC to remind them 4 weeks before their
reconfirmation date and again 2 weeks before.
However, we have had
reports that this is not happening consistently and parents are unknowingly
dropping out of eligibility. If parents miss the reconfirmation deadline, they
will receive a message telling them that
their eligibility has lapsed, and that they now fall in to their grace period.
Please
make parents aware that they need to remember to reconfirm and to regularly
check their secure email box on the HMRC government gateway site, rather than
relying on their personal email inbox for reminders.
