1. Ofsted Inspections
From 1 April 2017,
inspectors will no longer show their blue inspector passports for
identification purposes when they arrive for an inspection.
All
inspectors will have a photographic identity badge that clearly states their
name, role and the Ofsted logo. This badge is the only ID inspectors will show.
2. Course cancellation
confirmation emails starting April
From 1
April all course cancellations made by telephone or the Online Provider Portal
will be confirmed via email to the setting’s email address within 10 working
days of the cancellation.
The setting
will receive one cancellation email, usually on Thursday, for all course places
cancelled during the previous week. We hope this will assist with tracking
bookings and cancellations.
Once
received, please check all details are correct, as any errors may result in a
course non-attendance charge or attendance without booking charge being levied.
Responsibility for ensuring the cancellation information is correct sits with
the setting subscribing to the Training Subscription Scheme.

3. (FE providers only) Free Entitlement Leaflet – latest version now
available in different languages
Following consultation with Children and Family Centre staff the ‘Discover… Free Entitlement’
leaflet is now available to view and download in the following languages:
Bengali, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Urdu
on the following webpages:
Providing
free childcare for 2, 3 and 4 year olds
Free childcare for 3 and 4 year
olds
Free childcare for 2 year olds
These top 5 languages
were chosen based on statistics about the languages spoken within West Sussex
as well as Children and Family Centres feedback. We appreciate that there may
be other languages which may also be useful, but we are limited to producing
the leaflets in 5 languages.
As you are aware,
this leaflet is aimed as a guide for parents and carers about the Free
Entitlement for 2, 3 and 4 year olds and hope the additional languages are beneficial
to you.
