Wokingham Borough Connect
Broken link in last weeks newsletter
Last week, we told you about a scheme we are running giving recycled bikes to refugees from Ukraine.
We also shared how you could donate to the fund that supports them with equipment and activities in the borough, however the link did not work. So if you would like to donate, please click the button below to go to our crowdfunding page.
Vehicle-activated speed signs
Across the borough,we are making efforts to reduce speeding by using vehicle-activated speed signs.
The speed signs will flash up the speed limit if you are approaching too fast, with locations generally chosen following feedback from the public, town councils or community groups.
We currently have six vehicle activated speed signs that can be installed for up to three months, and have been shown to be an effective deterrent to speeding on roads where, on the whole, motorists obey the speed limit so there’s no basis for a permanent reduction to the speed limit.
