Wokingham Borough Connect
Cycling events across the borough
Summer Cyclocross consists of fun twisting parkland courses that are accessible to all. Mountain bikes are more than welcome and are encouraged for new riders. The next events at Dinton Pastures Country Park near Hurst are on 2 and 16 June.
My Journey Wokingham is supporting the event at Dinton Pastures and has donated some rewards for riders.

Not ridden a bike for a long time and lost your confidence? This FREE session for women is aimed at beginners who know how to ride a bike and those who have not cycled for a long time and want to improve their skills and confidence. We are running this course as part of Bike Week.

A fun day of cycling for families and friends on 12 June. There are three routes - 15, 33 and 54 miles - through the picturesque countryside of Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. All routes are signposted and marshalled, with drinks stations for the longer two routes.
Visit the Three Counties Cycle Ride website to find out more and book your place.
Wokingham Bikeathon will be taking place this year on Sunday 26 June at Cantley Park, Wokingham. My Journey Wokingham is proud to be sponsoring the medals at this year’s Bikeathon, so that all children under 12 who take part will receive a free medal. This year, the Bikeathon will be introducing a fully biodegradable, plastic-free medal, which is embedded with wildflower seeds which you can plant afterwards.

Donating bikes to Ukrainian refugees
Almost 200 refugees have already arrived in the borough, with most being women and children. We’re providing bikes to help them get around and get settled.
Bikes are being sourced through the team’s four hubs and part of a partnership with re3 recycling, which runs the local recycling centres. Dr Bike is repairing bikes and delivering them to those in need and we’re providing cycle helmets, with help from Berkshire Cycles, as well as providing cycle training to them if needed.
We’re also coordinating community fund-raising to help pay for laptops and other technology for school for child refugees.
It will also pay for access to sports clubs, cultural activities, like drama and music, and access to other groups, like scouts and guides, to help these children enjoy the part of their childhood spent in the borough. Find out more and donate using the button below.
