 Premier of Québec Philippe Couillard and First Minister of Wales Carwyn Jones visit Canadian based CGI office in Bridgend
Following October’s announcement of 620 new jobs at Montreal based CGI in Bridgend, Premier of Québec, Philippe Couillard and First Minister of Wales, Carwyn Jones have visited the company to hear about their expansion.
CGI, the fifth largest independent information technology and business process services firm in the world, announced in October it was expanding its operation in Bridgend with £3.2m business finance from the Welsh Government.

Next Generation Data announces world first for energy efficiency
Next Generation Data (NGD) has announced its European mega data centre as the first data centre operator in the world to offer customers multiple rack data hall environments with contractual power usage effectiveness (PUE) ratios of just 1.0. This is the most energy efficient rating on the globally recognised scale prescribed by the Green Grid.
The PUE ratios will be available to customers at its NGD Europe mega data centre in South Wales from the first quarter of 2015 and will be achieved by harnessing the latest solar power and free cooling technologies combined with a 100% renewably sourced mains supply.

Finnish company chooses Swansea as UK headquarters and software development centre
A leading Finnish user experience and service design agency has chosen Swansea as its new UK headquarters and software development centre where it will create 30 highly skilled jobs with Welsh Government support.
Leadin, which is headquartered in Tampere, looked at a number of locations for its new software centre to support its European growth plans before choosing Swansea where it has links with Swansea University. The investment is backed by £570,000 Welsh Government business finance to support thirty jobs with recuitment now underway.

Digital Tuesday
Digital Tuesday is a networking community which meets on the first Tuesday of each month usually at the Celtic Manor, Newport - to exchange knowledge, debate and do business around the digital theme.
