Programme to boost numbers of Welsh speaking secondary teachers (Cynllun Pontio)

Applications open for the Welsh-medium conversion programme (Cynllun Pontio) from 2 to 22 February 2026.

16 to 18 local curricula guidance

We are consulting on draft guidance which will serve as statutory guidance from Welsh Government to Medr on the formation of 16 to 18 local curricula in Wales; and outline the duties for Medr, maintained secondary schools with sixth forms, further education institutions and local authorities in the formation and planning of 16 to 18 local curricula in Wales. Consultation closes 31 March 2026. Written Statement

Taith Pathway 1 applications are open now!

Pathway 1 funding enables international learning exchanges, supporting participants travelling to and from Wales, either as groups or individuals.

Applications close on 18 March at midday.

Learning continuity guidance

The Learning Continuity Guidance has been updated to cover learners in Pupil Referral Units and education other than at school settings.

EWC consultation on draft Strategic Plan 2026–29

The EWC are looking for feedback from registrants, partners, and others with an interest in education and regulation in Wales, particularly from individuals, and organisations representing people with diverse lived experiences and backgrounds. Deadline is 12:00, 13 March 2026.
