Wales Tourism Week 2022,15 – 22 May: Get involved

Wales Tourism Week is an opportunity for tourism sites across Wales to raise awareness of the sector and showcase the quality of the tourism offer to both UK domestic and international tourists.

This year the theme for the week supports the Tourism and Hospitality skills and recruitment campaign #theexperiencemakers - helping shine a spotlight on careers and job opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sector in Wales.

Launched in 2021 by Visit Wales with the industry-led Wales Tourism and Skills partnership, the campaign supports the sector and raises awareness of the high numbers of vacancies and of the variety of career opportunities available. The message of the campaign is to join the experience makers and is delivered in partnership with Working Wales Work in hospitality and tourism | Working Wales (gov.wales).

Find out more about Wales Tourism Week, learn about the resources available to you to get involved and events taking place on Wales Tourism Week - Wales Tourism Alliance (wta.org.uk).

Be sure to join in on social media: Look out for posts using #theexperienceemakers and #walestourismweek and share them across your platforms – let’s get more people to come and work in tourism and hospitality.

Let’s shape the future: a review of the recovery plan activity

When the recovery plan (Let’s Shape the Future) was published in March 2021 it was designed as an additional layer of interventions in response to the direct challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It would then bridge back to the Visit Wales action plan (Welcome to Wales: Priorities for the Visitor Economy 2020-25).

The recovery plan was informed by public, private and third sector stakeholders. Those stakeholders have continued to play an invaluable central role throughout the plan period, not least via implementation of their respective activity and feedback to the Welsh Government that has helped shape many of the shared interventions as they were rolled out.

A review of the activity within that plan (covering the period March 2021-March 2022) is now available.
