Wales learns lessons from the Ruhr region

Partners from Wales and across Europe visited Germany as part of the COHES3ION project. They found out how the loss of traditional industries in steel and coal has led to the region reinventing itself using markets such as healthcare and cyber security.

Inspiring young scientists

As part of British Science week the Welsh Government is hosting a Science Day. The invited audience of young people will get the chance to listen to inspiring talks, meet Scientists and learn from Student Innovation Award winners such as Thomas Jenkins.

Funding available for your innovative decarbonisation ideas

Eligible businesses can apply for up to £50,000 of financial support from the EU funded SMART Cymru programme to explore the feasibility of decarbonisation ideas. If your business wants to investigate the viability of transforming innovative decarbonisation ideas into new products, processes or services, you can apply for a non-repayable grant to cover up to 70% of feasibility costs now.
