Learner reports are now available on the assessment site for schools to download. The reports include age-standardised scores and information on progress.

The professional standards for assisting teaching are now available for use by all teaching assistants and higher level teaching assistants to reflect on their practice and identify professional learning. The standards are part of a range of standards for teachers, leaders and those who assist teaching.
The Welsh Government guidance comes into force from 1 September 2019 and provides clear and useful support for governing bodies in making decisions on school uniform policies in respect of access, affordability and flexibility.
Next year’s early May bank holiday will move from Monday 4th to Friday 8th May to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Schools should open Monday and close on the Friday and update their calendars to allow parents to plan for the change.

Two teachers from Wales were honoured at the 2019 German Teacher Awards in a ceremony held at the German Ambassador’s Residence in London on 3 July. Nicholas Walters, St Paul’s Church in Wales Primary School Cardiff, received a German Teacher Award prize donated by the Austrian Cultural Forum and Deborah Morgan, Osbaston Church in Wales School, Monmouth received a “Special Mention”.
Open University Short Courses
The Open University in Wales is running free online short courses to help students get a head start in their application to university. Up to 120 places are fully funded by The Open University and open to any students entering Year 12. The modules start in October and will typically run for 21 weeks.
