Social enterprise invests for future growth

Flag makers Red Dragon Manufacturing are well-equipped for future growth thanks to support from Welsh Government’s SMART Productivity programme. The support funds three-days of consultancy from an external innovation expert to identifying potential improvements to productivity such as new machinery, technology or software. There is also the opportunity for businesses to receive an additional five days of consultancy to help implement the changes.

St David Awards 2019

Now is the time to nominate for the 2019 St David Awards, the competition recognises and celebrates the exceptional achievements of people in Wales. There are nine awards on offer, one of which is Innovation, Science and Technology.

Last year’s Innovation winner was IQE, the global leaders in the design and manufacture of advanced semiconductor wafer product.

IDP15: Low Carbon Vehicle R&D Competition and Faraday Opportunities - 25 September - Cardiff Marriott 

Innovate UK, KTN and Faraday Institution are cooperating with the Welsh Government to bring these briefings and workshops to Wales.

  • The IDP15: Low Carbon Vehicles Competition to enable industry-led research into technologies that accelerates the transition to zero emission vehicles
  • The Faraday Battery Challenge Competition
  • The Faraday Institution workshop will seek a wide range of views on the UK's priorities for Research and infrastructure

Student Innovation Awards 2018

1 & 2 October - Glamorgan County Cricket Club, Cardiff

22 & 23 October - Pontio Arts Centre, Bangor    

The Innovation Awards is a prestigious competition and an interactive showcase for the most pioneering project work at GCSE and A level Design and Technology. More than 2000 students, teachers and businesses are expected to attend the event taking place in Cardiff and Bangor next month.

Women in Innovation: Building Success - 5 November 2018 - Wales Millennium Centre

As part of Innovate UK’s second Women in Innovation programme, KTN will be running a Building Success event. There will be a variety of interactive, practical workshops, including a grant writing masterclass and an investor readiness session, to help take your business to the next level. Female founders and women working within innovation from all industries are encouraged to attend to take the opportunity to network with like-minded women, learn from experts and hear from successful female entrepreneurs.
