Timber Business Investment Scheme

Expression of Interest Window Open Until 30 April 2018

The Timber Business Investment scheme provides funding for capital investments that add value to forests by enabling woodland management activities, timber harvesting and/or timber processing.

Co-operative Forest Planning Scheme

Expression of Interest Window Open Until 30 April 2018

Encouraging planning for the creation of broadleaved and conifer woodland, and contribute to the delivery of the objectives of the Environmental and Rural Affairs Monitoring and Modelling Programme (ERAMMP).

Farm Business Grant

The Farm Business Grant (FBG) scheme is a capital grant support package, designed to help farmers in Wales improve the economic and environmental performance of their agricultural holding.

Contracts from the previous round will be issued to successful applicants on the 28 March 2018 and successful applicants then have 30 days to accept.. 

Contracts must be accepted via RPW Online

Renewable energy, energy saving and broadband infrastructure is the focus for the Rural Community Development Fund (RCDF) Expression of Interest Window opening on 5 April 2018.

The Rural Business Investment Scheme - FOOD (RBISF) is a capital investments scheme to support projects that offer clear and quantifiable benefits to the food and drink industry in Wales.

Glastir Small Grants (Carbon)

Glastir Small Grants contracts are now being issued to farm businesses who have been selected as part of the carbon theme. Contracts need to be accepted within 21 days of issue and are available on your RPW online account. Please note that geotagged photos must be taken before and after capital works and submitted with your Glastir Small Grants claim.

Please note that we have extended the deadline for you to submit your Glastir Woodland Creation plan for window 5 from 19 March to 6 April 2018.

The 2018 Glastir Commons claim must be submitted by 15 May 2018. Guidance and information can be found on the Welsh Government website.

Glastir Entry & Advanced Common Errors

Farm businesses should familiarise themselves with the most common errors and issues found during administrative checks and inspections in 2017. The fewer issues that are found during an inspection, the quicker the inspection will be completed.

Dealing with errors is time consuming, may delay payment and results in penalties.

11th OECD Rural Development Conference

Improving Rural Innovation. Opportunities are available in rural areas, and contribute significantly to national economies:

The Conference is held in Edinburgh, from 9-12 April 2018, organized by the Scottish Government, in close collaboration with the Scottish Enterprise and the Highlands and Islands Enterprise. The event is also supported by the European Commission and the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs of the United Kingdom.
