Ambitious expansion plans for South Wales firm

Pontypridd-based, Laser Wire Solutions turned over £4m in 2017 with thanks to Welsh Government Innovation support.

With the aid of a SMART Cymru grant, the company which designs and manufactures laser wire stripping machines was able to design and create the company’s first product.

Today the business is one of Wales’ fastest growing companies.

Innovative partnership boosts Wales’ circular economy

National construction firm, Wates Residential, are working with Cardiff City Council as well as a paint manufacturer, Paint 360, and a social enterprise, Merthyr Tydfil Institute for the Blind, to use ‘re-engineered paint’.

The partnership was brokered by Welsh Government's Innovation team as part of a project to help local authorities recycle opened tins of paint left at their household waste centres.
