Congratulations to all our fantastic winners!
We would like to say a huge “Congratulations” to the Employee Award 2021 winners.
Nominated and voted for by you, these exceptional colleagues attended the annual celebratory event yesterday at Tudor House and Garden. Awards were presented by Sandy Hopkins, Chief Executive, The Leader, Councillor Dan Fitzhenry and The Mayor, Councillor Alex Houghton. Watch the video to find out who were our overall winners of the year 2021, and remember that nominations for 2022’s awards are open now.
As the Employee of the Year couldn’t join us yesterday, we would like to offer our congratulations to Natalie Harvey-Hunter, Homelessness Prevention Officer, who helps families and individuals remain in their homes, bringing reassurance and stability to so many of our vulnerable residents. Well done Natalie!
Our 365 celebrations continue! How Teams and Channels make working life easier
Thanks to Microsoft 365, we can now host meetings online, collaborate with internal and external partners more efficiently, and communicate faster than ever. But there’s more! Teams and Channels can make our working lives easier.
What’s a team? A Team is a space for people to work together on projects and tasks.
What’s a channel? A channel is a place where you can share messages, tools, and files with colleagues. You can create channels for your department, project, team, making these private where necessary.
Time for a chat Chat is an instant messaging function that is perfect for formal and informal discussions. Why send an email when you can converse with colleagues in real time! You can even convert an email into an instant message. With its screen-sharing capability, team members can talk through projects together.
Etiquette - check out important dos (and don'ts) in this week’s Information Pack.
Stay in the k(no)w - here’s how to manage channel notifications.

Last week's "Tell us 2" winner receives a £25 shopping voucher!
Wendy Whittington told us. “I like the flexibility it offers to work from almost anywhere at anytime and across multiple devices. I was delayed yesterday by over an hour due to train problems. It was my first day back after a long weekend and wanted to make sure I hit the ground running. I used 365 on my personal mobile phone and the Company Portal to check and respond to emails. When I got to the office I was up to speed, ready for my first meeting and didn't need to worry that I didn't know what was going on!”
Tell us your two to be entered into this week’s draw.

Can you help the homeless?
As we approach the winter months and the nights are getting colder, Balfour Beatty are organising a collection of items to be distributed to homeless people in the city.
Grace Small, Community Engagement Manager at Balfour Beatty Living Places has contacted a church who distribute items weekly, and they have supplied a list of items they need:
- Bottles of water
-
New warm hats, gloves and socks
- Sleeping bags
They also distribute welcome bags to those who come off the streets and into hostels. Below is a kit list, they would welcome any sets of complete bags. Since one bag is a lot to get together, why not coordinate with other people to make up a complete bag?
If you would like to donate anything please contact Grace and arrange to get your donations to City Depot office by Wednesday 27 October.

This new venue is offering all staff free use of the shuffleboard area when you visit. Just take your ID along to make use of the kit.
