Exciting plans to transform the former Cole Brothers building in Barker’s Pool into a mixed-use entertainment, leisure and retail venue are moving forward.
The Strategy and Resources Committee will meet on 21 December to hear the latest update on the project to transform the landmark building as part of the ongoing regeneration of the city centre.

The Central Library and Graves Gallery building is a much-loved building in Sheffield that generations of people have used and enjoyed.
We will be taking steps to identify the future use of the building at a meeting of the Strategy and Resources Committee on 21 December.

The Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus (SPC) have been shortlisted for a prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society (RPS) Award. The RPS Awards are a sought after achievement by both amateur and professional musicians alike.
The awards night takes place on 5 March 2024, with a public vote for the Inspiration Award via the RPS website.

Parking Services and Penalty Charge Notice support – Appeals can still be submitted online, or by post, however they will not be actioned until services resume. Cases will be placed on hold once an online appeal has been submitted.

Educational trip exemptions support – Applications can still be submitted; however, they will not be actioned until services resume. We recommend submitting applications required for week commencing 1 January 2024 as soon as possible.

Warm Homes Sheffield helps people get grants to make their home more energy efficient for free. The grants can be used for things like solar panels, air source heat pumps, and insulation. Check if you're eligible.
Advice and guidance available for young residents
Young residents aged 16-18 and not in education, employment or training can get advice and guidance from our Youth Services team.
This includes help with CVs, job seeking, interview coaching and much more.
