Botanical Gardens
Our parks and green spaces will remain open during the next four weeks of national lockdown, but with some facilities closed in line with Government guidance.
Sheffield’s five Household Waste Recycling Centres will be open as normal during the four week national lockdown.
Usage of sites has been high throughout the pandemic as people have been spending more time at home, and it is expected that this demand will continue throughout this second lockdown. For full opening times and day click the button below.
Government have issued further clarification on which businesses can remain open during the new lockdown period, with restrictions in place until 2nd December.
The latest guidance includes greater detail and examples of business types, to help each business consider the guidelines and assess whether they are a business required to close or if they can remain open.

The graph above shows the change in the seven-day average of people testing positive relative to 100,000 of population, which increases to a high-point of 500 cases in early October, before fluctuating between 400 and 500 cases between 8 October and 27 October.
If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), you must self-isolate and get a test as soon as possible.
There are now 6 testing centres in Sheffield at the following locations:
- Local Testing Site at Sharrow
- Local Testing Site at Darnall
- Regional Testing Site at Meadowhall
- The Mobile Testing Unit based at Olympic Legacy Park has relocated to Milton Street Car Park in Broomhall.
- Local Testing Site at Burngreave
- Local Testing Site at Upperthorpe
You should only book a test if you have symptoms of Covid-19. Tests must be pre-booked and can only be booked via the national NHS portal online nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119. Stay at home and continue to self-isolate until you get your test results - only leave home to have a test.
