Richard Caborn and Lord Mayor of Sheffield Councillor Sioned-Mair Richards
Richard Caborn has been awarded the city’s highest honour, Freedom of the City, for dedicating his life to Sheffield and its people.
Former MP Richard received the honour this week from the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Sioned-Mair Richards, in gratitude for his contribution to the advancement of sport in Sheffield, nationwide and internationally.

Sheffield and Khmelnytskyi have been twinned since December 2022 and are coming together to celebrate Eurovision, in a show of solidarity as the United Kingdom hosts the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of last year’s winners, Ukraine.

Applications are open for our retrospective financial support scheme to contribute towards costs if you have already upgraded your vehicle to meet CAZ standards.
The retrospective scheme will be open for eight weeks and will close on 29 June at 11.59pm.
To be eligible, your vehicle must have been upgraded after 26 October 2021, and before the launch of the retrospective scheme. You can find out if you are eligible and apply online.
If you upgraded your vehicle after the launch of the retrospective scheme you will not be eligible to apply, but you can still apply for financial support to upgrade or replace your vehicle to meet CAZ standards.

We’re looking for reading volunteers who can help children and young people in Sheffield for one hour a week to improve their literacy and communication. You won’t need any teaching experience; you’ll be given free training and guidance.
