On Sunday 7 May, Sheffield will be part of history as the Town Hall is lit up for King Charles III Coronation Concert.
Named as 1 of 10 iconic UK locations that will be ‘Lighting up the Nation’, Sheffield Town Hall will come alive with projections, lasers and illuminations as part of the Coronation celebrations, and will be broadcast to the world, live from Windsor.
Taking place from 3pm-10pm.

A very special part of the Coronation weekend will be dedicated to remembering the life and reign of Her Majesty by inviting people into the city centre from far and wide to pay their respects.
Visit the commemorative stone in the Winter Garden, which the Queen opened in 2003, and the stunning floral tributes and Book of Condolence in Sheffield Town Hall.

The Blades will celebrate with the city on Thursday 11 May.
After their 2-0 win against West Brom gained them automatic promotion, Sheffield United will be celebrating with the city with a victory parade on Thursday 11 May between 5:30pm-8pm.

This year, the Eurovision Song Contest is being hosted in Liverpool on behalf of Ukraine, and to celebrate their culture, two Ukrainian singers will be performing in our official party on Saturday 13 May!
Maryna Krutь, who came second in the competition to be this year’s Ukrainian entry, will be travelling over from Ukraine to perform in Sheffield.
Mariia Petrovska, also known as Mariam, is an 18-year-old Ukrainian refugee who arrived to our city in May last year. She will be playing the bandura – the national musical instrument of Ukraine.
Other acts performing in Devonshire Green include Sheffield Ukrainian Choir, HOVERLA Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, Eurovision Brass, Jamie Campbell and more!
Bin collections will not be affected by King Charles III Coronation on 6 May, or the bank holiday on 8 May. Please put your bin out before 7am on your usual day of collection.
All Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) are open as normal, but please check site opening times before you travel.
Bank holidays can be busier than usual, so please be patient if visiting during peak times. Please do not queue outside the sites as this can pose a danger to other road users.
The Household Support Fund is available to help you with anything from clothing and food, to gas and electricity.
If you’re on Universal Credit or a low income, you may be eligible for Council Tax Support.

Local businesses that run light goods vehicles can still apply for a CAZ exemption, which will expire on 4 June 2023.
Vehicle owners based in Sheffield and Rotherham can also still apply for financial support to upgrade or replace a vehicle to meet CAZ standards.
If approved, you can continue to use your existing vehicle without charges for 3 months while you find a suitable replacement vehicle or upgrade.
If you order a replacement vehicle during the 3 month period, your exemption will be extended as required, up to 1 year, to accommodate delivery of the new vehicle.
