Try to keep out of the sun in the hottest part of the day, between 11am-3pm, avoid exercising at this time too
Keep hydrated! Drink plenty of fluids and avoid excess alcohol
Never leave anyone in a closed, parked vehicle, especially infants, young children or animals
Check on those who may struggle to keep themselves cool and hydrated, especially older people and those with underlying health conditions
Close curtains on rooms that face the sun to keep indoor spaces cooler
Wear sunscreen, applying regularly and a wide brimmed hat if you go out
