48 hour trophies tour
Tuesday 29 March marked 200 days to go until the Rugby League World Cup 2021 kicks off across England. To celebrate Sheffield welcomed the 48-hour trophy tour to the Peace Gardens along with a range of local sporting stars and teams.
This year you’ll have the chance to vote in both the Local elections and for the Mayor of South Yorkshire on Thursday 5 May 2022.
To vote in the elections on 5 May you need to register to vote by 14 April. You only need to register if you’ve never done it before or have moved house or changed your name recently. Look out for your Poll Notice arriving in the post, if you don’t receive yours you might be one of the 10% in Sheffield who hasn’t already registered.

People in Sheffield will want to know what our city is doing to support the people of Ukraine, as well as how they can help directly.
There are a number of organisations supporting the international effort for Ukraine that you can donate to, including the British Red Cross, UNICEF and Save the Children
Additionally, the City of Sanctuary website offers advice and information about how to help, as well as information about The Ukraine Advice Project which is providing free immigration advice for Ukrainian Nationals.
  The Full Monty is back almost 25 years on and the filming will take place right here in Sheffield, where it all began. The new Disney+ original series will see the original lead cast reprise their fan-favourite roles including Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy, Lesley Sharp, Hugo Speer, Paul Barber, Steve Huison, Wim Snape and Tom Wilkinson.
