What do businesses need to do
- All businesses: ensure staff know that they must self isolate for 10 days and not come in to work if Test and Trace tells them they are a contact of a suspected Omicron case.
- Retail businesses: ensure customers wear a face covering on your premises unless they are exempt. We've produced a new poster to help you with this.
- All businesses: there are lots of other actions you already know about, which are not part of the new rules but will help you to make your business safer. Ensure COVID-19 is part of your risk assessment, and consider what further measures you might need to take in an environment of increased risk. Good ventilation; good hand hygiene; encouraging staff to get vaccinated; and ensuring they stay at home if they test positive or have symptoms will all help to safeguard your business this winter. You can find support with all of these on the 'Coronavirus - Business Resources' page on the Council website.
If face coverings are required in your business under this legislation, you must display the information in this poster on your premises. Please print this new version and display it in your business.
