Repairs service update
We’re still carrying out urgent and emergency repairs when safe to do so, along with routine gas servicing and work to vacant properties.
We are also planning to re-open the Repairs Call Centre for new non-urgent repairs next month and make arrangements with customers to complete repairs reported prior to the Covid outbreak.

Older People's Independent Living (OPIL) Service
Throughout the pandemic, we have worked hard to deliver a safe service to all our OPIL tenants.
Our Neighbourhood Officers have kept in regular contact with tenants by telephone or intercom, visiting schemes for a few hours twice a week to carry out health and safety checks.
Communal lounges and kitchens remain closed for the time being to residents and groups who use them for activities. We will let you know when we can reopen them safely.
Laundry rooms remain open – with guidelines in place - as regular washing of clothes helps prevent the spread of the virus.
Our Caretakers continue to clean communal areas and carry out building checks.

Rainbow crossing installed in city centre for Sheffield Pride
Sheffield Pride was celebrated differently this year, with a digital event on Saturday 25th July. Sheffield City Council marked the occasion with a semi-permanent ‘Pride crossing’ in the city centre on Pinstone Street. The Pride flag was also raised at Sheffield Town Hall.

Block cleaning satisfaction survey
We are carrying out a survey of our tenants and leaseholders who live in, or own a property, in one of our blocks of flats, maisonettes or tower blocks to gather views on their cleaning service.
This feedback will help inform any future changes to the cleaning service and ensure we are doing all we can to meet our customers’ expectations.

Gardening competition
Our Green Fingers garden competition has now closed. A big thank you to everyone who entered this year.
We are currently going through the very difficult job of judging all of the entries and allocating scores.
As there are no specific competition categories this year, we are going to do the scoring and allocation of prizes a bit differently. Scoring will be banded into Gold, Silver and Bronze categories. Prizes in the form of Morrisons vouchers will be awarded as follows:
- Gold - £50
- Silver - £30
- Bronze - £20
The continued social distancing restrictions mean that we will not be able to hold our usual prize ceremony this year, so prizes will be posted out to all winners by the end of August. Details of the judging results and some photographs of our favourite gardens will be shared online and via social media.
Understanding the Impacts of Covid-19 questionnaire
Our Public Health Team has created a questionnaire to help understand the positive and negative impacts of Covid-19 on Sheffield communities.

Help combat the stigma of social housing
'See the Person' Campaign is working with the Chartered Institute of Housing to tackle the problem of stigma against social housing and the people who live in it.
The campaign is run by tenants and sponsored by housing organisations across the UK supporting people to have a voice against stereotyping. To find out more, visit the website
