We are working hard to reinstate our services safely as soon as possible. This bulletin is to update you on how we plan to resume a more ‘normal’ housing repairs service.
Emergency and urgent repairs
We’re still carrying out urgent and emergency repairs when safe to do so, along with routine gas servicing and work to vacant properties.
If you do need to report an urgent or emergency repair you can call us on 0114 293 0000.
We are planning to re-open the Repairs Call Centre for new non-urgent repairs next month, as we bring more technicians back into work. Please look out for announcements in the next newsletter about the date for this. (Please do not contact us before the agreed re-opening date to order a non-urgent repair as our staff will not be able to help you)
Repairs reported prior to lockdown
If you reported a repair before the Coronavirus (COVID-19) breakout you will unfortunately not have had this appointment or inspection carried out. Our repairs team focused on emergency and urgent repairs only. We are now able to start to recommence this planned work where it is safe to do so.
What do I need to do?
If you reported a repair prior to the outbreak, we will be in contact with you in the next few weeks to arrange a suitable time for us to come out and complete the repair. If we are unable to contact you, we will send you a letter that will include information about contacting us to arrange your repair work. Please do not contact our Call Centre about these repairs as they will be unable to help you.
How long will it be until my repair is completed?
As a result of having to suspend all of our planned repairs we have a high number to complete. It will take a number of months to work through this backlog so please try to be patient. We know how important it is to you that your repairs are carried out and will contact you to make an appointment as soon as we can.
What if I still don't feel safe letting staff into my home?
We recognise that during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak that you may be worried about letting people into your home. We want to reassure you that we are following the government guidelines to make sure your home is safe and that our technicians adopt safe working methods when they visit your home.
If you are currently shielding or feel uncomfortable about us visiting you at this time, please let us know as we can make alternative arrangements to complete this work at a future time.
