A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Autumn 2026 Early Years Termly Provider Briefing. It was fantastic to see so many early years professionals, managers, leaders, and childminders coming together to hear the latest updates and developments across the sector.

It is an exciting time to be in the Early Years sector and there are a number of vitally important updates that we have to share with you. If you were unable to attend, or would like to revisit any of the information discussed, the recording and supporting documents are now available.

Why are the termly briefings important?

Our termly briefings are designed to keep providers informed about:

  • National and local Early Years developments
  • Funding and policy updates
  • Safeguarding information and guidance
  • SEND and inclusion initiatives
  • Training and professional development opportunities
  • Family support services and partnership working
  • Key projects, programmes, and resources available across Portsmouth

We encourage managers, leaders, and childminders to watch the recording and attend future meetings to stay informed about the latest developments within the sector. The information shared by the Early Years team and the guest speakers is crucial in shaping the future of work that you as our Portsmouth Early Years providers do to support your children and families. Please share the slides/recording with others in your setting and if you have any questions about the input, do contact the team via eydelivery@portsmouthcc.gov.uk.
