Portsmouth Water are offering a free lead check for schools and nurseries in the Portsmouth area to help protect children’s health and ensure safe, high-quality drinking water.

Although water at its source and within the mains is virtually free of lead, some properties may still contain lead pipework. Portsmouth Water want to help you better understand your water quality and support you in becoming lead-free.

Taking part is simple: They’ll arrange a convenient time to visit and take a sample from the main taps in your building for testing in their laboratory.

If they do find lead, they will:

  • Help you take immediate steps to reduce levels
  • Investigate further and replace any lead pipework up to the first internal tap, free of charge
  • Work with you to arrange this at a time that suits you
  • Offer advice and potential support for any internal pipework, helping you plan longer-term improvements if needed

To arrange your visit or find out more email: Ben.Barnes@Portsmouthwater.co.uk or call 07345 487222.

Dadzclub has a new Interagency Referral Form, designed to make it easier for professionals to connect fathers and male caregivers with support.

The referral form enables professionals to provide key information about a dad's circumstances, identify any support needs or safeguarding considerations, and indicate which Dadzclub services may be most appropriate. Once submitted, a member of the Dadzclub team will review the referral and make contact with the father where consent has been obtained.

Dadzclub offers a range of support opportunities for fathers, including peer support, one-to-one support, stay and play sessions, wellbeing activities, antenatal support, and targeted support for young dads.

We know that many fathers can be overlooked when support is being offered to families. A simple referral can often be the first step in helping a dad build confidence, strengthen relationships with his children, improve his wellbeing, and access a supportive community of other fathers.

If you have any questions about Dadzclub or would like to discuss a referral, please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing us at  hello@dadzclub.com.
