EFL Joy of Moving: Move and Learn - Free PSHE project for year 5 pupils |
|
|
Pompey in the Community are looking for schools to receive their free Joy of Moving: Move and Learn project to year 5 pupils for spring 1 half term and also at various points across this academic year. The project, funded by the English Football League Trust, lasts for one half term, delivered weekly, and consists of a 45min classroom session on the importance of healthy eating and an active lifestyle, followed by a 45min active session featuring fun games rather than a traditional P.E session.
These sessions offer a great alternative to more traditional healthy eating sessions delivered in PSHE, are free of charge and can be booked in for spring 1 or any half term beyond that.
Please contact Head of Curriculum, Sam Cleare, on sam.cleare@pompeyitc.org.uk for more information and booking.
Further information on the JOM project can also be found on their website.

Young Changemaker Grants |
|
|
Young Changemaker Grants, powered by Verizon through the Unloc Changemaker Alliance, support young people aged 16-25 in the UK with small seed funding grants of up to £1,000 to trial their entrepreneurial ventures, community projects or social enterprise ideas.
These grants are designed to give young people a chance to test their ideas and get them off the ground. We know it can be difficult for young people to secure funding to fulfil their changemaker potential, so we want to offer this opportunity to as many young people around the country as possible.
Applications close on Thursday 30 November 2023.
Single, rent your home or under 30?
Did you know that you could become a foster carer? The need for new foster carers has never been greater as the national and local shortage of foster carers grows dramatically.
Foster Portsmouth, PCC's fostering service, want more people to think a little bit more about what fostering is and if they could foster. The children we care for come from different backgrounds, cultures and walks of life so we need a varied pool of foster carers to ‘fish’ from. There's no ‘one size fits all’ approach when it comes to who’s a good fit to foster.
There are so many of you that could be excellent foster carers of the future but have been put off by the many myths and misconceptions out there. We want to change that, so we've written a handy blog to dispel the key myths and encourage people to come forward.
