Family Support Plan portal now live |
|
|
The new digital solution which supports the Family Support Plan is now ready to use. The FSP Portal allows you to complete the Family Support Plan directly onto the portal, work collaboratively with others, and have an overview for all the children that have an FSP.
Key benefits of the FSP Portal include:
-
Digital solution - a digital version of the FSP form.
-
Case management overview - clear view for all children who have an FSP that you are either the lead or part of the team around the family.
-
Include other professionals - you can add in other professionals who are part of the TAF, they will be able to view the FSP and Plan.
-
Review reminders - the portal will show at 6 and 12-week periods when a review is due.
-
Review will pre-populate - when starting a review, this will pull through all previous information from the original FSP.
-
Actions will pre-populate - actions from the plan will pull through and allow for an update and to show progress and changes.
-
Transfer cases - if stepping across to another lead professional, you can transfer the ‘FSP coordinator’ role.
-
Download and print - you can download the FSP to enable it to be uploaded to your own system or print for the family.
ACTION REQUIRED The FSP Portal will now replace the Word version and you will need to register for an account before you use this. Please complete the form, email to fsp@portsmouthcc.gov.uk and your account will be set up for you. If you are from a school and have access to the Insight Hub portal already, your FSP account will have been already added.
Further support is available to help you navigate the FSP Portal:

Free languages CPD for secondary departments |
|
|
There is a renewed direction for languages starting this year and led by the NCLE. This curriculum puts teachers' professionalism at the heart of teaching and learning.
To ensure that all departments in the city are ready to embrace the new GCSE and curriculum, Tanya Riordan, PGCE MFL Course Leader at the University of Portsmouth, is offering two free CPD sessions to MFL departments.
The first session is on rethinking the curriculum and the second on scaffolding the lesson.
To arrange suitable dates and times, please contact Tanya Riordan on tanya.riordan@port.ac.uk.
Pompey in the Community 2023/24 sessions |
|
|
Pompey in the Community are organising sessions for the 2023/24 academic year through its free Premier League Primary Stars and Joy of Moving programmes. Head of Curriculum, Sam Cleare, has already been working closely with a large amount of schools in the Portsmouth area over the last two years and we wish to continue engaging with the schools in our community. The PLPS offer to schools includes the following:
- Reading interventions with individuals using football themed texts (6 weeks).
- Active maths interventions in small groups (6 weeks).
- PSHE interventions in friendship and self esteem with whole class (6 weeks).
- P.E CPD delivering/team teaching lessons alongside class teachers to support their confidence and subject knowledge (not PPA cover) (6 weeks).
- Social action project: working with school council/sports leaders to plan and organise an activity or event to help the school, local community or wider world (6 weeks).
- Whole staff training in P.E as an after-school CPD.
- One-off PSHE activations: 45min workshop which can be delivered to multiple classes (either in an assembly or individual classes one at a time).
- One-off maths activations - data handling and statistics using the live Premier League data online (goals, yellow cards, corners, shots, saves etc).
- One-off English activations - stadium tour of Fratton Park followed by a creative writing workshop at PITC using the five senses, on what it would be like to play in front of a sold-out crowd.
- Support and guidance in organising and/or running school sports days.
Register with the Primary Stars website for free to get access to a bank of resources with a football theme to deliver to pupils. Joy of Moving runs for six weeks with year 5 pupils and incorporates a 45min classroom PSHE element around healthy lifestyles and diets and a 45min practical session with fun active games (not a traditional P.E lesson).
For further information, please email Sam Cleare on Sam.Cleare@pompeyitc.org.uk.
The Big Ambition survey |
|
|
The Children’s Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza, has launched The Big Ambition, a national survey of children and young people across England.
The Big Ambition aims to hear from children across England on what they think is important. In the lead up to the next General Election, the Children’s Commissioner wants to take children’s thoughts, opinions and ideas to decision-makers, to make sure that the Government hears young people’s voices on what they think needs to be done to make children’s lives better in England.
The Big Ambition survey will be open until Friday 15 December 2023.
DfE Languages Hub Schools – Salterns Trust announcement |
|
|
The DfE has announced its first 15 schools that will run its new network of Languages Hubs across England. Salterns Trust is delighted that Admiral Lord Nelson School and Trafalgar School have been chosen to lead one of the two Languages Hubs in the South East region.
Last year, the government announced a £14.9 million expansion of their previous language hubs pilot. It aims to spread best practice in language teaching to other schools and boost exam entries. The scheme will be managed by the National Consortium for Languages Education, a consortium of UCL, the British Council and the Goethe-Institut. 19 schools will work together on the first 15 hubs. A further 10 hubs will be created in the second recruitment round in January, meaning there will be 25 hubs in total.
Each Languages Hub is expected to work closely with up to seven secondary schools and more detailed information will follow. If you are interested in being one of seven schools working closely with our Languages Hub, please contact Nys Hardingham on ceo@salternstrust.co.uk.
+Extra funding for projects |
|
|
Portsmouth City Council and Shaping Portsmouth have teamed up with Crowdfunder to help make great ideas happen. Community organisations and schools can get an extra funding boost of up to £5,000 for great ideas through the Portsmouth CIL Transformation Fund. Local organisations to benefit so far include Share Portsmouth Library of Things and Repair Café, Cumberland Infant School and Manor Infant and Nursery School.
Share Portsmouth Library of Things and Repair Cafe crowdfunded to help the community save money and the planet by repairing and borrowing items rather than throwing them away. They successfully raised over £13,000 with the help of +Extra funding.
