One week left until closure of the Research Accreditation Service (RAS)

We have been keeping accredited researchers and users of the Secure Research Service (SRS) and Integrated Data Service (IDS) informed of the upcoming plans to replace RAS.

The Project Accreditation Service for SRS (PASS) and People & Projects Service (PPS) will provide a new route for all project applications and researcher accreditation when they are introduced on Tuesday 29 April. Read our latest communication for more details.

RAS closure: One week to go

In preparation for the switch to the new services, please be reminded that RAS will be closed from Friday 4 April to migrate data to PASS and PPS.

What does the closure mean for me?

No new applications can be started or submitted in RAS from Friday 4 April

PASS and PPS will then be available from Tuesday 29 April

Between Friday 4 April and Tuesday 29 April, users will not be able to start accredited researcher applications, new project applications or request changes to live projects.

Users with in-progress accredited researcher applications that have not been completed are being contacted directly to progress their applications to conclusion.

Researchers who have live projects with change requests, and project applications in-progress, may also be contacted via email during this period to progress these applications to conclusion.

If you believe the timescales set out will have an impact to a critical SRS research project application or researcher accreditation, please contact SRS Customer Support to discuss the specific circumstances in more detail.

For any concerns related to an IDS project application, please contact IDS Customer Support

RAS replacement updates now available on the ONS website

Further information and live updates on the progress of the replacement of RAS are now available via a dedicated page on the ONS website. This page will be updated with links to access PASS and PPS once the new services have launched.
