Pandemic Analysis and Insights Partnership Development Programme
ONS is excited to offer experienced professionals a range of opportunities including temporary loans or secondments, short term contracts, internships and partnership agreements, to be involved in its response to the coronavirus pandemic. Its Health Analysis and Pandemic Insights team is responsible for the COVID-19 Infection Survey, producing weekly data on deaths caused by COVID-19, and estimates for long Covid. We aim to generate an independent breadth of insight into the shape of the pandemic, and its wider social and economic impacts.
Irrespective of where you are based in the UK, this is a chance to partner with the nation's foremost provider of statistics and analysis, develop professionally, and benefit from a unique insight. Ideally, we’d like to welcome colleagues who have some knowledge of the health sector and/or health data, and have experience in their chosen profession. We are keen to hear your ideas as well as share our own.
There are a broad range of priority opportunities available on the partnership development programme that covers Statistical, Analysis and Project and Programme Delivery.
If you’d like to find out more about the programme please email us at hapi.resources@ons.gov.uk

Have you reported your research outputs?
Thank you to all those researchers who have shared their published findings with us over the last few months.
Please remember to report any publications arising out of your Accredited Research Project to the SRS Impact Team. Don’t forget, this is your responsibility under the Digital Economy Act (2017) and under your agreement with ONS. The SRS are required to pass this information onto the UK Statistics Authority each month, to increase transparency in the use of the data. ONS also uses this information to help us report on research impact and value.
Project leads and any project team members can report to us.
‘Publications’ is a broad term covering any research outputs or outcomes, in a variety of formats – drafts and polished final copies are very welcome.
Examples of the kinds of publications we would like to hear about include:
-
Journal papers
-
Working papers
-
Research dissertations and theses (e.g. PhD / MSc / BA etc.)
-
Presentations (e.g. conferences, seminars etc.)
-
Policy briefings
-
Public-facing reports (e.g. End of Award, commissioned etc.)
-
Book chapters
-
News articles and blog posts
-
And anything else that you are counting as impactful
We will be featuring Research Outputs of the Month in future newsletters, working with you to provide a short highlight note.
Please email your notifications of publication to: SRS.Dev-Impact@ons.gov.uk

And, on the subject of publications, are you looking for further ways to help demonstrate the impact of your research? This includes research within the SRS, or your use of ONS secure data in other research environments. If so, the SRS Impact Team can help you write and publish case studies to promote your research. |
Your project does not have to be completed and may have already started to gain visibility. Alternatively, if you have already communicated your findings, we can discuss ways to accelerate visibility.
