The Magdalen Hospital Trust - open to applications 1st – 31st October

Organisations working with vulnerable children and young adults, especially those at risk of sexual and other forms of exploitation are able to apply for grants of £500 to £2000.

They prefer to fund project costs rather than core costs.  Projects can include those that provide training for work and personal development, clubs, crime prevention, emergency care, play schemes, mental health support and counselling. The awards are usually one-off although longer-term proposals will be considered very occasionally. No application may be made more than once in two years.

The Trustees meet twice a year, usually in June and December. With submission dates for those deadlines being between 1st and 30th April for the June meeting and between 1st and 31st October for the December meeting.  No applications will be considered outside those dates.  All applicants will be notified of decisions after the relevant Trustees' Meeting.

If you have any questions please email: correspondent@magdalentrust.org.uk

The Tudor Trust

The Tudor Trust is an independent grant-making trust which supports voluntary and community groups.

The criteria is fairly broad, with voluntary and community groups working within any part of the UK eligible as long as they have a bank account.

The Trust also wants groups who:

  • Work directly with people who are at the margins of society
  • Have a focus on building stronger communities by overcoming isolation and encouraging inclusion, connection and integration
  • Are embedded in their community and can identify and channel the potential within that community
  • Are thoughtful in their use of resources and foster community resilience in the face of environmental, economic or social change

The Trust is more likely to fund groups with a turnover of less than £1million as they are more interested in supporting smaller groups, although exceptions can be made so it is advised larger groups contact the trust before applying.

Tudor operates a two-stage application process and so ask all applicants to complete a brief first-stage proposal. You can also download the funding guidelines for 2019-2020 from their website: http://tudortrust.org.uk/
