 RAF100 Nottingham Event
Saturday 7 April Old Market Square 9:00 to 16:30
To celebrate the centenary of the Royal Air
Force, this special event in the Market Square will host an RAF100
Village filled with local associations proudly linked to the
RAF as well as modern day personnel on hand to talk about how the modern day
RAF is operating in the UK and around the world.
There will be a number of interactive activities, and vehicles offering photo
opportunities and the chance to have a go.
Rolls Royce is bringing a wealth of
knowledge and a number of historical engines to show how the company, and site
at Hucknall Aerodrome has played a key part in the success and development of
the RAF through the years.
The Mercian Regiment will be bringing experts from the Trust to talk about Captain Albert Ball
VC, one of the first people to attain the status of Ace during the early years
of flying.
A large number of other stands will be present, showcasing
vehicles and equipment from the RAF.
The
RAF Careers Office covering Nottingham and Derby will also be on site to
provide careers advice to individuals interested in joining as an Apprentice or
Commissioned Officer.

Nottingham Express Trams will be offering their ‘Special Event Ticket’ to all Serving Personnel, Veterans and Cadets from all services on the day, when a valid form of identification is produced if requested.
