Waste Operative
Mitie are looking for a Waste Operative to join the Waste and Cleaning team to undertake the collection, movement, sorting, processing and dispatch of waste and other materials including the compaction of waste and cardboard. They are looking for someone who can stay compliant to Health and Safety regulations, monitor the performance of equipment, provide support to the On-Site Waste Coordinator to complete site objective and make sure to follow PPE guidance.
They are looking for a candidate who has experience in Health & Safety training, an understanding of waste management and environmental legislation, have previous experience in the use of static balers and compactors and also be capable of carrying out strenuous tasks.

Sportainment is offering a 6‑week paid summer job opportunity for at‑risk young people aged 16–20 across Greater Manchester. Participants will work 25 hours per week at £12.71 per hour and receive support from SEN, wellbeing and safeguarding staff throughout the programme.
Young people are eligible if they meet one or more criteria such as having experience with care, social services, exclusions, youth justice contact or being at risk of exploitation or serious violence.
Referral options: Partners can refer eligible young people, or individuals can contact Sportainment directly. Eligibility will be confirmed, and support is available for those who do not meet the criteria.
