Boating Fun - New sessions!
Boating is back at Heaton Park lake this summer for families living in the Manchester City Council area! There are two dates – Monday 21st or Monday 28th August, 10am-12 noon. Only one booking per household. To book, send a text to The SPACE Group at 07749 116211 on Friday 11th August between 10am-12pm. Only text once and wait for confirmation. The SPACE Group are extremely busy - if you text out of that time period you may not hear back.
You will be allocated a 25 minute time slot. The types of boat are: rowing boats, swans (pedalo) and electric boats (only 2 available). Your text needs to include: your name + additional adult names + children names ages + postcode + preferred date + boat type (swan, row or electric).

Tree Tops - New sessions!
The popular Tree Top activity is back this summer for SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area. As well as the nets, there are also Tree Top Trek sessions on the hire-wire obstacle course. Only one date per household.
Tree Top Nets
10am-12 noon Tuesday 22nd August, Thursday 24th August, Friday 25th August, Tuesday 29th August, Thursday 31st August and Friday 1st September.
- Minimum age 3; children under 5 to be accompanied on the nets by an adult (18+); for children over 5, adults must remain in the activity area.
- Safety briefing starts at 10am promptly; an online waiver must be filled in before arrival - you will be sent this information via text.

Tree Top Trek
12-2pm Tuesday 22nd August, Tuesday 29th August
- There is more safety criteria with Tree Top Trek. This will be discussed with you when you ring to book.
- Minimum age 5; all children under age 12 need an adult (18+) to participate with them; for children aged 5-6, there needs to be 1 participating adult to 2 children; for 7-11 olds, it is 1 participating adult to 3 children; for children age 12+, an adult must remain in the activity area at all times.
- There are two options: the Mini Trek takes around 1 hour and reaches 8m high, the Full Trek is around 2 hours and reaches 18m high. Suitability will be discussed when you ring.
- The Trek safety brief starts at 12.15pm promptly; if you are late you will not be able to take part.

Fun On The Water - NEW!
Try out outdoor water activities for free at Debdale Outdoor Centre on Hyde Road, Gorton this summer. It’s on Friday 11th, Sunday 13th, Friday 18th, Sunday 20th, Friday 25th, or Sunday 27th August at 1-4pm. You’ll need to wear clothes and trainers that you don’t mind getting wet and to bring a full set of spare clothes and a towel. The minimum age is 6 years old and children need to be water confident. This activity is for families living in the Manchester City Council area. Cycling Party - NEW!
The SPACE Group and 4CT are running two events with Simply Cycling this summer at Wythenshawe Park, Athletics track, Wythenshawe Rd, Manchester M23 0PH. Parking at the track. It’s a chance to try the fun range of adapted bikes, picnic together (lunch included) and do some arts and crafts. This activity is for families living in the Manchester City Council area. BeWILDerwood Trips - NEW!
If you haven't yet been on a coach trip with The SPACE Group and 4CT Limited, there are two trips to BeWILDerwood – The Curious Treehouse Adventure in Cheshire:

Booking is through a face to face session on Thursday 10th August 5pm-7pm at The Grange Community Resource Centre, Pilgrim Drive M11 3TQ. This face to face session is for families who haven’t booked on any other trip with The SPACE Group this summer. The charge is £5 per adult (18+), free for children. This activity is for SEND families living in the Manchester City Council area.
Skateboarding - New age range 5-25!
Younger children are now welcome to the free coached skateboarding and scootering classes this summer! The new age range is 5-25 years old.
The sessions are for SEND young people and siblings living in the Manchester City Council area - with friends also welcome. It's every Friday from 28th July until 1st September, 2-4pm, at Projekts MCR Skatepark, 97 London Road, M1 2PG, including drinks and snacks. It’s flexible, meaning you don’t have to go to all sessions, but booking is essential - call the Specialist Resource Team on 0161 219 2125, Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm.

Booking goes live today (August 2nd) at 6pm for the Manchester Parent Carers Forum Relaxed Cinema Screening on Saturday 26th August, 10am-12 noon at GRUB in Manchester. This free activity is for families living in the Manchester City Council area – book through Eventbrite.

SEND Swims At Abraham Moss - NEW!
We’re delighted to share there's a new weekly inclusive swim at the newly rebuilt Abraham Moss Leisure Centre in Crumpsall - for free as part of the SEND Community Offer! Sessions are 12-2pm every Saturday, starting on 19th August, with Tanya from the Manchester Parent Champions to welcome you. The swim provides a calmer environment for children and young people with special needs and disabilities. We’re trying it out as a drop in – so no need to book, just turn up! The new swims are for families living in the Manchester City Council area.
Woodcraft And Nature - Places available!
Sow the City are running SEND Woodwork & Nature Sessions at the Moss Side Powerhouse on Tuesday and Thursdays in the summer holidays, 1-3pm, starting on Tuesday 25th July. Activities include making bird boxes and bug hotels, slate carving, wooden keyrings, and nature crafts and walks. The activities are suited for 12+ but all the family is welcome. Video Gaming Fun - Places available!
Everyone Can is running fully accessible video gaming sessions on Thursday 3rd August 1.30pm-3pm, Thursday 17th August 1.30pm-3pm, and Wednesday 30th August 1.30pm-3pm. The sessions are aimed at disabled young people aged 5 to 24 and their families (an adult needs to stay). It’s on Floor 1, 25 School Road, Sale M33 7XX. There’s a breakout area where people can enjoy a drink and a light snack or use the small sensory room. The centre is accessible to wheelchair users with an accessible toilet and mobile hoist, though not full changing facilities. Gaming sessions are fully accessible to those with additional needs, but if any gamers struggle with using a standard controller, please let Everyone Can know in advance so they can arrange for a free assessment to find the best way for them to play games (contact@everyonecan.org.uk, 0808 800 0009). City In The Community are offering inclusive football and multi-sports sessions for children aged 8 to 16 years with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) living in the Manchester City Council area. Sensory Rooms - Places available!
Spend time in the Sensory Rooms at Redbank House in Cheetham Hill over the summer. Free slots are available at various times between 9am-4pm (on the hour for 50 minutes) during weekdays from Monday 24th July to Friday 1st September (excluding Monday 28th Bank Holiday). Families have free use of the Sensory Room at Benchill Community Centre in Wythenshawe over the summer. Each slot is for 45 minutes and on the hour. It's Monday 24th July to Friday 1st September (excluding Monday 28th Bank Holiday). Call the community centre on 0161 946 9520 to book. For families living in the Manchester City Council area only.
Exciting Cycling - Places available!
MANCCYCLES and GMYN offer an exciting opportunity for young people aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs living in the Manchester City Council area. Riding sessions are every Saturday 11am-3pm, meeting at the Procter Learning Centre, Hulme Street, Off Jackson Crescent M15 5EF. Bikes, helmets and other safety equipment are provided for cycle routes across Greater Manchester, along with regular bike maintenance sessions. All young people take part in a pre-ride induction before attending Saturday rides but need to be competent riders. Simply Cycling is wheeling in for the summer! It’s a chance to feel part of a community, having fun on their range of adapted bikes.
