We've been working with our partners across the city to make sure there's plenty to keep you busy during the school holidays. There's loads to do for children and young people in Manchester!
The Loads To Do website will be updated throughout the holidays with loads of great activities for children and young people, including many free and low-cost options.
There's plenty on offer across parks, sports, libraries, galleries and more to keep you and your family entertained during the school holidays without breaking the bank. Here are some of our top picks.
Manchester Hip Hop Archive at Manchester Central Library
Come and learn about music-making with Manchester Hip Hop Archive. This is a great session for budding musicians and performers.
Learn about modern hip-hop culture from working musicians and find out more about its history and relationship to Manchester.
Young people attending will also find out about future Manchester Hip Hop Archive (MHHA) events and projects.
Sessions take place on 31 July and 14 August from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

Summer of Creativity at Manchester Art Gallery
Keep children and young people entertained this summer with Manchester Art Gallery’s free ‘Creative Families’ sessions. Join one of the gallery’s fantastic art workshops taking place in the Lion’s Den (Clore Art Studio).
Each session is different and all materials will be provided. Just drop in at a session and get creative.

Free Swimming in Manchester
Did you know that young people living in Manchester can swim for free?
In Manchester, young people aged under 16 can swim for free during public general swim sessions during the school holidays. They can also swim for free during weekends term time too.

Enjoy a game of ‘Banner Bingo’ on your next visit to the People’s History Museum. It's a fun activity for the whole family. The focus of the game is to find the different images featured in banners found throughout the two main galleries and the new 2023 Banner Exhibition.

The Heaton Park Courtyard has been transformed into a brilliant pop-up play area for the park’s youngest visitors, aged 0-4 years. You’ll find age-appropriate toys and a safe Astro-turfed area where little ones can play and explore.
