Cariocca Enterprises
The imPACT Programme
Cariocca Enterprises is a Manchester based social enterprise that provides workspace and supports entrepreneurialism in Manchesterâs inner-city communities. They are launching The imPACT Programme, an employment training and internship initiative for young people aged 17 to 29. It will give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to learn key employment skills and gain valuable work experience especially in the sports, engineering, technology, finance, and health sectors.

Catch22
The Digital Edge Programme
2 days a week for 4 weeks and is done completely remotely using Microsoft Teams.
The programme is funded by Microsoft and aims to help people between 18 and 45 into the Tech industry. After completing the programme you will then have access to 1 2 1 career coaching and in work support once they find employment.
Over the 4 week programme you will get vital employability skills training, insight into the digital and technology sector whilst doing practical activities and gain confidence in applying for digital apprenticeships or entry level IT roles, with the view of launching their career.
You should be:
- Interested in a digital and tech industry
- 18 to 45 years old
- Access to laptop/computer and headphones
- Based in Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and London
- Not in Education or Employment
- Have the right to work within the UK
- Have a basic level of IT Skills
The programme covers the different type of tech roles available in the industry, the different tech jargon terms, how to tailor a cover letter and CV to these specific positions and they even do group projects. Alongside their facilitators they do have guest speakers from Tech Apprenticeships providers, and Microsoft staff also speak to the group about the tech industry.

DISC (Digital Inc. Specialist College) They have both full and part time opportunities for 6 to 12 months agency work experience in their Manchester city centre workspace. DISC will be opening its doors to support young people with a flair for digital and creative technology to prepare for adulthood and employment. Become a social media volunteer
Are you a content creator? Do you make videos on TikTok or manage an Instagram profile? Would you like to help share hidden stories from the museumâs archive with the world?Â
They are looking for two volunteers to help support their marketing and communications manager in creating engaging content for the museumâs social media channels.Â
They are looking for young 18 to 25 year olds and creative people, who use social media on a daily basis, understand trends on different platforms and can support them with video creation for Instagram and TikTok. This is an opportunity for students and people starting their career in creative industries, who would like to develop their digital content creation skills and build their portfolio.
Volunteers will be given access to a laptop and editing programmes like Adobe Premiere Pro. Donât be put off if you donât have experience working in museums. They would be interested in volunteers that could offer regular support (commit to a minimum of 4 hours, fortnightly).

CareerSense Exploration Workshop The CareerSense Exploration Workshop is a free learning resource focused on employability skills and building studentsâ career confidence, designed for students in Year 9/S3 and upwards.
CareerSense Dream Bigger The CareerSense Dream Bigger workshop has been designed to get students to âDream Biggerâ by developing their skills and resilience, helping them to level up their transferable skills for the future world of work, designed for young people aged 16-18.
Find Your Potential In addition to the Exploration Workshop and CareerSense Dream Bigger Workshop, NatWest CareerSense also offers a tool called âFind Your Potentialâ. This online tool will help you better understand your skills and motivations through a series of easy questions. FutureYou Mentoring This is all about helping unemployed, young people aged 18 to 24 progress. Itâs designed to give the support needed to achieve goals, whether that be progressing into education, employment or training. Young people will be quickly assigned a mentor who will be primary contact during the FutureYou programme. The mentor will dedicate time to them to understand current circumstances, goals and any concerns young people may have. Young people will have weekly contact and monthly reviews with their mentor to ensure they have the support needed to keep progressing.Â
Together with their mentor, young people will create a personalised plan of action to help move into the education, training or employment thatâs right for them. Every step counts, with constant opportunities to review and track progress and achievements; and make any changes that are needed along the way.Â

Manchesterâs Rising Stars Fund We Love MCR's Manchesterâs Rising Stars Fund is unique. It supports ambitious 15 to 22 year olds experiencing financial disadvantage to achieve their potential by funding vital equipment, training and resources to enable them take their next steps to success in Work, Qualifications or Entrepreneurship, via grants of up to ÂŁ5,000.Â
Basic Criteria for applicants:
