We're stepping in to help pensioners with winter fuel payments
As the government withdraws winter fuel payments for all but the very worst off, low-income pensioners in Richmond can be reassured that we will step in with financial support. We'll be offering £100 to all pensioners who receive a Council Tax Reduction, but who aren't eligible for the government’s winter fuel payments. This is in addition to our Fuel Grant Scheme which is a payment of up to £170.
Our new Fairer Access Scheme will ensure nobody is priced out of our leisure centres
Our new Fairer Access Scheme provides discounts or free access to activities at our leisure centres, to ensure no one is priced out of moving more to keep fit and healthy.
This scheme is one of the key priorities of our new Richmond Moves Leisure Strategy which aims to increase participation in sport, leisure and physical activity and make it a natural and accessible art of every day life!
