There are still four days left to take part in the VisitRichmond Christmas advent calendar giveaway, where you can enter for a chance to win fantastic local prizes. Prizes includes high tea for two and an overnight stay in a boutique hotel. The competition is open to everyone.
Expressions of interest open for the 2024 Richmond Voluntary Fund
Voluntary and community organisations are invited to submit expressions of interest to become a beneficiary of the Richmond Voluntary Fund in 2024. The Richmond Voluntary Fund receives donations from residents to support initiatives that make a real and lasting difference to the lives of people living in Richmond. The focus this year will be children and young people and expressions of interest are invited from organisations already supporting children and young people in the borough. The deadline for submission is midnight on Friday 19 January 2024.

Community BlueScapes launches two new funds
Community BlueScapes has received two pots of funding from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to support local projects focused on reducing flood risk and increasing the ability of local people and the area to adapt to climate change.
Applications for the Community BlueScapes Fund will close on 26 January 2024 and applications for the Ideas Fund will close on 15 February 2024.

Keeping residents safe in cold weather
An Adverse Weather and Health Plan is in place, which provides key information on how to ensure residents' safety during colder months. It highlights those at increased risk, as well as providing resources on how to plan for adverse weather and how to register for cold weather alerts.

Sleep workshops for Farsi speakers
Refugee Action Kingston are holding sleep workshops for Farsi speakers at Richmond and Hillcroft Adult and Community College, Parkshot Centre, Richmond. The workshops will teach attendees about managing stress and anxiety, trauma and the impact of trauma on memory. The workshops are 3pm-4pm for 10 weeks from Wednesday 10 January 2023.

Climate emergency resident action pack
Richmond Council has launched its Climate Emergency Resident Action Pack on its Climate Emergency main webpage. The pack is designed to enable residents to make easier choices about reducing their impact on climate change as well as providing strategies to cope with the effects of climate change (extreme temperatures, flooding etc) for themselves and the community around them.
The pack includes links to many local groups, businesses, services and community initiatives. Find out how you can support climate action.
Friendly Parks for All - enjoy the borough's parks
The Friendly Parks for All project aims to improve the impact, reach and quality of access to parks and open spaces in the borough to residents who experience barriers to access.
Other aims include:
- Improving opportunities to engage with parks for residents to enjoy by improving access for people that face barriers to spending time in parks
- Promoting the benefits of engaging with the natural environment for health and wellbeing especially for groups who have identified inequalities and face barriers to accessing these spaces.
- Providing tailored interventions that address these identified inequalities to address barriers to access and inequalities

Work Routes Work and Health Programme - supporting jobseekers facing barriers to work
Work Routes is the pioneer expansion of DWP’s Work and Health Programme. It is designed specifically to support jobseekers with multiple barriers to work and/or a disability or health condition.
