The Brixton Chamber Orchestra was in full swing as they touched down at St Matthews Estate during the festive period. The residents were treated to some seasonal classics with the ensemble in fine form. The Orchestra went on to tour other estates throughout the borough with family friendly free entry shows.
On 18 December the Rosendale Garden Youth Project came to a close with a Christmas get together for everyone involved with the project. Fun was had with the group which included a table tennis competition, connect four (proved very popular) and computer game battles.
Renee Okuefuna who is a youth services project coordinator went on to say “I was very pleased with how the programme has gone. This is the first time that the Rosendale Gardens Estate has benefitted from an extensive youth programme. All the young people involved live on the estate. They very much enjoyed sharing experiences and meeting new friends”.
